Solarize is a locally organized, community outreach effort aimed at getting homes and businesses in one area to go solar.  Organizations that host Solarize Campaigns include: counties, towns and cities, community organizations, even a group of neighbors.  This group effort – learning about solar and installation together – results in an easier solar process and better, more affordable, pricing for the group members.

In each campaign, the hosting organization selects the solar installers through an extensive vetting process, before moving ahead with community events to allow residents and businesses to meet the installers and learn more about how solar power can help them and their residence or business out.  Campaigns are generally a short affair, lasting approximately 6 to 9 months, including all earlier planning and outreach.
