Solar by CIR installed 42 REC420AA Pure Panels, bolstered by 42 Enphase Energy IQ8+ Micro-Inverters on a residential property in Akron, New York.
Uniquely, the system was installed not at the residence but at the property’s neighboring pole barn. To achieve this, a 17.6kW Pole Barn Mount was required, with panels installed on the barn’s roof.
Not only do mounting panels on a pole barn preserve the home’s roof aesthetics, but they also give homeowners greater freedom and control over their positioning and tilt angle. This is because pole barns often have more roof space than most homes. To help the panels collect more sunlight for longer periods of time throughout the day, the system was installed on both sides of the pole barn.
The project was completed at a gross price of $45,864.00, but the homeowner received a sizable savings of $3,5283.00 thanks to NYSERDA incentives. In total, the project was awarded $18,759.20 in tax incentives.
